BOTW in the News

While walking the floor at SES San Jose, I bumped into Chris Pirillo. Chris covers a bunch of tech topics, and provides some pretty cool interiews. Additionally, Chris runs Lockergnome – a very cool tech resource.

Chris took an interest in BOTW, and we decided to chat for a bit. As it was a spontaneous interview, it is fun to listen to it now, to hear how I responded to some of his questions. A couple of them stumped me a bit (my all-time favorite site?)

Anyway, Chris was a good sport, and I definitely appreciated the chance to talk (though I take no responsibility if the Web sucks). Cheak out the interview at the Chris Pirillo Show

Skeleton Crew

Understanding that there is more to life than just working, we strive to maintain a healthy balance of work/play. Happy worker bees make for productive worker bees…

A majority of the core staff, executive team, and editors are out playing for much of the month of August (all paid vacation, of course). So if things seem a bit light this month, please bear with us while we recharge our batteries a bit. The final quarter of 2005 promises to be exciting, and we need our full strength..

A Healthier BOTW

Trying to build a comprehensive directory of all the information online can be pretty daunting at times. Picking and choosing branches to focus on is an iportant part of the master plan. Currently, we have a handful of editors focusing on the Health branch of the directory. Check out the What’s New in Health from the 14th to see some nice progress.

Conference Highlights

After a coast to coast, full week conference schedule, it is nice to take the networking hat off and duck behind the computer again. The conferences (Internext and SES San Jose) were full of information, networking, and partying. The new shirts were a success (more on the horizon).

My favorite event of the conferences was the annual Google Dance held at the Googleplex. Though it lacked the pornstars present at the events of Internext, it was pretty cool to hang where the magic is made. I think we made an impression – check out the pictures from the night taken by Google employees. Looks like Google is BOTW friendly :)

Webmaster Radio Interview

Webmaster Radio was kind enough to invite me on to speak for a while with host Monte Cahn to discuss domain names. Monte is the founder and CEO of Moniker.com, one of the fastest growing registrars online.

The interview went pretty well, though the sound quality was sketchy. I was speaking a bit out of my element, but enjoyed myself nonetheless. Check out the full broadcast here – Domain Masters 050810
